This week in Herons...
It’s been another busy week of learning for Herons!
It is great to see the continued progress they make, and it is lovely to hear that parents are noticing too!
This week in English, we have been focussing on letters. The children have written two letters this week, one as a class and one independently. The children have enjoyed writing letters and are really focussed on applying their phonics to their writing, for their spellings.
In Maths, the children have moved onto numbers within 20. They can talk about their Maths learning confidently and are applying their understanding of numbers within 10, to their new learning. The children really enjoyed working together to create a poster for the number 10. Please have a look on tapestry for their fantastic efforts.
This week, the children in their afternoon lessons have learnt about Florence Nightingale, sorted a variety of materials, and created sculptures using a wide variety of materials.
Next week, we are looking forward to celebrating number day and having our first workshop with parents this year.
