Autumn Term Week 3 in Herons...
This week in Herons, the children have been busy writing their own fantastic Dogger story. The children tried their very best to apply the sounds they have learnt so far into their writing. Not only have they written stories, but they have also written a fact file about a toy, which links into our current learning in History.
In Maths, the children have been securing their understanding of counting forwards from a given number within 10 and have used tens frames to support their learning activity. Herons have also learnt how to find one more than a given number and again have used tens frames, cubes and drawings to help with their Maths skills. In our curriculum lessons this week, we have observed and described the changes in Spring, learnt about the toys our parents and grandparents played with when they were little and identified people within our community who care for us. We are very much looking forward to our trip next Tuesday and cannot wait to share this experience with you all.
