Pancakes and Valentines!
This half term has flown by, and Miss Garrett and I are really proud of the progress the children in Dragonflies are making, we hope that you enjoyed looking at some of their work during your Parent Consultation appointments this week.
We have been reading the story of Mr Wolf's pancakes and making comparisons as it has characters from some of the other traditional tales, which we have read and also has many similarities to the story of The Little Red Hen, which Mrs Horlor shared in an assembly earlier in the academic year. The children have been writing Mr Wolf's shopping list and re-telling the story in their writing books this week.
Dragonflies enjoyed their first Anker Valley pancake race, and it was lovely to share our classroom with so many parents and carers for the afternoon, we hope that you enjoyed it too! The children enjoyed making love bugs, love potions, bracelets and collage pictures and there are photos of this event on our Facebook page, and photos will also be added to Tapestry too.
In our Forest School session this week, we had our first fire pit session where the children were able to toast marshmallows and have a hot chocolate together, which they really enjoyed. We look forward to doing this again soon!
