St David's Day and World Book Day
Dragonflies have made a fabulous start to the new half term and have enjoyed listening to some more traditional tales this week, including the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Chicken Licken. We have also started learning two songs to perform during our Easter bonnet parade on 24th March and Miss Garrett and I cannot wait to see this year's bonnets!
Dragonflies have found out about St David's day and the importance of this day. The children created Welsh flags and we looked closely at some daffodils and watched as they bloomed in the vase in our classroom.
On Thursday, the children came to school in their pyjamas, and we started the day with a story in the hall with Herons. In the provision Dragonflies created their own books including the front cover and blurb. They used a range of materials to create their own bookmarks too.
Dragonflies have enjoyed spending some time with Cookie and Oreo our new rabbits and we hope that Winnie and her family enjoy looking after them for us this weekend!
The first weekly home learning task has been uploaded to Tapestry and a big thank you to the children who shared some of their half term adventures with us, it was lovely to see the photos being uploaded. It looks like you had lots of fun!
