Today, Father Christmas came to Anker Valley. He visited each of the classrooms and gave each child a special gift which they will be able to open on Christmas Day with their families. One little girl in Dragonflies described it as 'the best day ever!' and I think that sums it up beautifully. 

It has been panto time in school today as we start the Christmas countdown. The children enjoyed joining in with Dick Whittington and perfected their 'It's behind you!' exceptionally well.

A huge well done to our choir from Year 2 and Year 3, who today performed carols in Ankerside Shopping Centre to help raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital

**Update This morning, we have received an email from Specsavers, who organised the event, to say that a total of £210 was raised. Well done to the children who took part, you sang beautifully and were fabulous ambassadors for our school!

We are once again the proud winners of 2 attendance awards from FFT. One for having attendance in the top 25% of FFT schools and one for being in the top 25% of similar FFT schools. Thank you and well done to all of our families for helping us to achieve this.

Thank you to our Dragonflies parents for joining us yesterday to help to decorate our beautiful Christmas tree. The children enjoyed a biscuit and juice, wrote letters to Father Christmas and did some Christmas colouring, before choosing baubles and tinsel to put onto the tree.

Kestrels made Christingles ready for their special assembly this afternoon. They have learnt about the different parts of the Christingle and what they represent. They have done a super job at learning their lines ready for the assembly and cannot wait to share their learning with all the mums and dads.
